Delbert Gordon, born in 1955 in Fort Defiance, Arizona, is a self-taught Navajo silversmith who grew up in Tohatchi, New Mexico. He began making jewelry at 17, drawing inspiration from his uncle, T.K. Whitman. Over the years, he has become known for his masterful stamp work, intricate designs, and use of high-quality natural turquoise, all hallmarks of traditional Navajo craftsmanship.
A highly respected artist, Gordon has influenced many, including his nephew, Derrick Gordon. His work is widely sought after for its bold, detailed silverwork and timeless aesthetic, solidifying his place among the most skilled Native American silversmiths.
