Collection: Ron Bedonie

Ron Bedonie (1967–2024) was a renowned Navajo silversmith known for his masterful stamp and chisel work. Born in Ganado, Arizona, he learned silversmithing from his parents, Lutricia Yellowhair and John Bedonie Sr., and later refined his stamping techniques with his cousin Thomas Jim. His jewelry, including bracelets, buckles, bolas, and concha belts, was distinguished by its precision, weight, and intricate fine-line designs.

Ron handcrafted his own stamps and chisels, sometimes repurposing old car parts into tools, ensuring each piece was uniquely his. His exceptional craftsmanship earned him numerous awards, including top honors at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial. Beyond jewelry, he also created intricate silver containers, some composed of up to 18 individual pieces.

A dedicated and innovative artist, Ron once said, “I pressured myself into getting finely chiseled lines because it was more of a challenge.” His passing in 2024 is a great loss, but his legacy lives on through his extraordinary work.
